This Park Crossing Drive home is an concrete house (ICF – insulated concrete form), which offers many advantages to the homeowners, but can present challenges when it comes to electronics and home technology. Travis McCory of McCory Construction has completed projects like this in the past.
QEI Security & Technology technicians installed six TVs throughout the home, including a statement TV over the fireplace in the living room. All gaming systems and electronic components were connected and hidden from view.
The owners also opted for a multi-room SONOS set-up, which is great for seamlessly transitioning from TV audio to music or from one music source to another. A SONOS soundbar was mounted below the TV in the living room along with two Connect:Amps and a pair of outdoor speakers for the exterior living spaces.
A concrete home offers incredible insulation, which cuts electric bills in half or more. But, that means that wireless networks do not work as well inside the home and a separate network is needed for the exterior living spaces. QEI Security & Technology technicians installed a Luxul network to accommodate three separate areas in the home: the main living spaces, the outdoor living space and the ground floor living area where the owner maintains a fitness facility.
